Yard Trash Collection

Yard Trash consist of trees, branches, grass clippings, weeds, leaves, pine needles and shrubbery trimmings. It does not include any mixture of wood, dirt, rocks, mulch, garbage or sand. Branches must be cut to no more than 5 feet in length with each piece weighing less than 50 lbs. and stacked in the same direction. Please place yard trash curbside for pickup, not in the road or on vacant lots. The residential sanitation fees only cover collection for the lot your home is built on. It does not cover land clearing of any other property lot.

Containerized Yard Trash

Yard trash containers placed curbside for collection shall not weigh more than 50 pounds, nor should they exceed a 32-gallon capacity. Residents are required to provide their own containers for grass clippings, weeds, pine needles and any other small clippings. A minimum of two reusable containers with two handles and a lid with no sharp edges (wheels are optional but preferred) must be utilized first before using sturdy lawn bags. After the bags are split opened and dumped in the truck, the empty bags will be placed in your empty cans to prevent them from blowing down the road. If you have sod or anything retaining dirt/sand, shake it completely out over your lawn. The City is not responsible for any yard trash containers.

ABSOLUTELY NO YARD TRASH IS PERMITTED IN THE RECYCLE OR GARBAGE/HOBO CONTAINER

Mulch and Fruit from trees must be disposed of through your household garbage collection. If you have a large quantity of it (over 50 pounds), you will need to request a special pickup

Bulky Yard Trash

For larger piles of yard trash (more than what will fit in a City claw truck), the owner may choose to dispose of the debris themselves or call the Sanitation Division so the pile can be assessed for a disposal fee.

If a CONTRACTOR cuts down your trees, the contractor or the property owner are responsible for hauling off the debris.
