Sergeant Hector Torres has been a sworn officer for the City of Rockledge for over ten years. Sergeant Torres was selected to be the Rockledge Police Department liaison to the Police Chaplain program in 2013 because of the respect his fellow officers have for him and the ease with which he communicates with the stakeholders in Rockledge. Sergeant Torres coordinates the requests for a police chaplain in times of need for spiritual/emotional support and encouragement to all staff members of the Rockledge Police Department as well as the stakeholders in our community. Additionally, Sergeant Torres arranges for chaplain ride-a-longs and presentations, which assist the chaplains in gaining a greater understanding of and deeper appreciation for the responsibilities of a police officer.
