[ARCHIVED] Hurricane Preparedness Tip #1

Preparedness Tip 1 - Trim Trees Now

The threat of an impending hurricane is a powerful reminder to trim your trees 🌳, but waiting until a storm is on the way is too late. Placing debris at the curb just before a storm may not give City crews enough time to collect it, leaving loose branches and yard waste that can become dangerous projectiles in high winds, potentially damaging your home or your neighbor’s home. This debris can also block storm drains and contribute to flooding. 🌧
To help prevent these hazards, we encourage residents to trim trees now—well before any storm approaches. If you hire a contractor for the work, please remember that City Land Development Regulations require the contractor to remove and properly dispose of all debris.
