Business Impact Estimates

On October 1, 2023, Chapter 2023-309 (Laws of Florida) went into effect. The bill requires counties and cities to produce and post a “business impact estimate” by the time notice of the proposed ordinance is published pursuant to Section 166.041(3)(a), Florida Statutes, with exceptions. The estimate must be published on the local government’s website and include certain information such as the proposed ordinance’s purpose, estimated economic impact on businesses, and compliance costs.
